STAR Web Services Interoperability Testing via the WSTF

Written by Bridget Almas on October 21, 2010 – 2:50 pm

STAR has moved one step closer to having a public interoperability test available on the Web Services Test Forum (WSTF).

The STAR Basic BOD Scenario is now available for public preview at http://wstf.org/docs/scenarios/sc011/sc011-preview.xml.

The WSTF is an open and free community where developers and customers can perform interoperability testing and discuss issues surrounding the application of Web Service-based technologies.  The WSTF aims to provide:

  • A shared/public testbed of regression tests that the community can use during the development of their Web Service implementations
  • A forum to discuss any interoperability issues that might arise from this testing
  • A forum to discuss questions arising from the use of the technology – in particular, in real customer driven scenarios

The STAR Basic BOD scenario covers the process of submitting and receiving a basic STAR BOD (Business Object Document) per STAR Web Services Level 1 requirements.

The final step in this process, which is to make the full STAR Scenario and test endpoints public, should be following soon.
