Oakland Software Joins STAR!

MCLEAN, Va., May 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail (STAR), a global information technology (IT) standards body for retail automotive and related industries, is a nonprofit, dues-paying organization whose members include dealers, manufacturers, retail system providers, and automotive-related industry organizations.

The goal of STAR is to use non-proprietary technology (IT) standards as a catalyst in fulfilling the business information needs of dealers and manufacturers while reducing the time and effort required to support related activity.

STAR would like to welcome Oakland Software as a STAR Member. This joint membership will be of great benefit and value to both parties involved.

Oakland Software will be offering the use of the Oakland Software Data Transformer (OSDT) to the STAR membership and distributing it with the Eclipse-based STAR Workbench. This will include support for the STAR XML Schemas so that STAR members can easily transform this data to and from other formats. As part of the commitment to STAR, Oakland Software will continue to work with STAR on the development of its specifications to improve both the STAR standard and the OSDT.
